El principal objetivo de este estudio se enmarca en una exploraci\u00f3n sobre el tema de la seguridad de los periodistasy los factores de riesgo, para el ejercicio period\u00edstico, conla llegada del COVID-19.Para la ejecuci\u00f3n de la investigaci\u00f3nse aplicaron entrevistassemiestructuras a periodistasde investigaci\u00f3n de portales digitales. Con este instrumentose obtuvo informaci\u00f3n para adaptaruna escala de valoraci\u00f3n de riesgos (extremo, alto, medio y bajo) a partir de la medici\u00f3n de los da\u00f1os a la integridad f\u00edsica y psicol\u00f3gica que los periodistas afrontaron en la primera etapa de la pandemia y que permiti\u00f3establecer lasituaci\u00f3nfrente a,las limitaciones econ\u00f3micas, de acceso a la informaci\u00f3n, de censura o autocensura ycapacitaci\u00f3n en temas de salud. Entre las conclusiones se destaca que los medios digitales ecuatorianoscon las limitaciones econ\u00f3micas, acceso a la informaci\u00f3n y censura se ubican en la categor\u00eda de riesgo extremo, con el 80%. Los medios realizan esfuerzos para conseguir recursos y continuar con los trabajos de investigaci\u00f3n, paralograr los objetivos usan fondos y recursos propios. Existen ayudas internacionales, pero no son suficientes. Finalmente, los periodistas confirmaron que en el Ecuador existe una cultura institucional en el sector p\u00fablico, que tiene que ver con la poca transparencia en la divulgaci\u00f3n de informaci\u00f3n que debe ser desbloqueada con el tiempo.<\/p>

Abstract<\/h5>

The main objective of this study is framed in an exploration of the issue of journalists’ safety and risk factors for the journalistic exercise, with the arrival of COVID-19. For the execution of the research, semi-structured interviews were applied to investigative journalistsof digital portals. With this instrument, information was obtained to adapt a risk assessment scale (extreme, high, medium and low) based on the measurement of the damage to physical and psychological integrity that journalists faced in the first stage ofthe pandemic and which allowed establishing the situation in terms of economic limitations, access to information, censorship or self-censorship and training on health issues. Among the conclusions it is highlighted that Ecuadorian digital media with economic limitations, access to information and censorship are located in the category of extreme risk, with 80%. The media make efforts to obtain resources and continue with the research work, to achieve the objectives they use their own funds and resources. There is international aid, but it is not enough. Finally, journalists confirmed that in Ecuador there is an institutional culture in the public sector, which has to do with the lack of transparency in the disclosure of information that must be unblocked over time.<\/p>
