Abstract

This article records the results of a qualitative research with a theoretical – practical objective: To analyze the consumption of memes about the Covid-19 pandemic among the generation of «digital natives» of Ecuador, locating their informative or misinformative characteristics and, from there, design a humorous multimedia project in which various formats propose to combat misinformation through a transmedia narrative. The first part of that purpose was fulfilled with the analysis of eight memes from six Ecuadorian Facebook accounts: El Uninverso, El Mercioco, El Mercio, Ecuawave, Memes Ecuador and Ratas, Ratones y Memeros, which were chosen by the number of followers and by the millennial audience interaction generated. In the other hand, the methodological part of the paper consisted of a virtual ethnography that started with an observation of the consumption of humorous content, which involved three levels of analysis of memes. In addition, nine in-depth interviews were carried out and a part of them were used as sources for the production of three transmedia journalistic formats: a multimedia report, a podcast and a meme about vaccines, which shows that humor can be used to inform, becoming in this way into a powerful educommunicational instrument in the combat against misinformation.

Keywords: Pandemic, Facebook, humor, transmediality, young audiences

Descarga la investigación completa aquí

María Doménica Rivadeneyra Arboleda: drivadeneyra@estud.usfq.edu.ec

Pamela Johana Cruz Páez: pjcruz@asig.com.ec

[10

post-303","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-publicaciones","three-columns
["GET
